Event Rules

Officials:

  • Officials will have final say in all game matters

 Teams:

  • Teams will have no more than 2 Coaches on the bench (Only head coach may stand during the games)
  • A player cannot compete on more than one team in each division of the tournament
  • A player may play up, but not play down
  • A player cannot change teams within division
  • Coach must add ALL players to your roster and turn into the tournament director at your gym
  • COACHES MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE PROOF OF AGE AND GRADE OF PLAYERS

Length of Game:

  • Games will consist of two 12-minute halves. With a stop clock, 1st through 5th Grade
  • Games will consist of two 14-minute halves. With a stop clock 6th through 12th Grade(Varsity)
  • Halftime will consist of a three (3) minute intermission
  • Teams will have a five (5) minute warm-up period prior to each game
  • Each team will be provided three (3) 30 second time outs per game
  • Overtime will consist of a ONE (1) minute period with STOP clock
  • 2nd overtime is sudden death (pool play only)
  • Only one (1) 30-second timeout will be permitted per overtime period.
  • NO CARRY OVERS
  • If teams are late to games, 14 minutes will be placed on the clock and for every minute that ran off the clock, the present team will receive 2 points for every minute gone
  • The official game will start when five (5) players and the coach have arrived with the time on the clock.
  • If the 14 minutes elapses, then the game will be a forfeit.

Fouls:

  • The one-one goes into effect on the 10th

Miscellaneous:

  • Tie-breakers are head to head, PDA, points scored, points allowed, then coin flip

Mercy rules:

  • Time clock will not stop if a team is leading by 15 points or more.
  • If team is leading by 20 points in the last 2 minutes, game over.
  • If team is leading by 30 points in the last 3 minutes, game over.

In addition to the rules listed above, National Federation rules apply:

  • Home will keep the official book (FILL OUT COMPLETELY)   Visitors will keep the scoreboard
  • Protest fee $150.00
  • COACHES ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE TO SUBMIT PROTEST FORMS AND FEES
  • Must notify a Tournament Director or RAP Staff member
  • Protest must be started before the end of the game
  • You are permitted to fill out the form and turn in fee at least 10 minutes after the game
  • Tournament Director’s decisions are final
